Pony Walls
What is a Pony Wall?
A pony wall is a short, partial-height wall that does not extend to the ceiling. In tub and shower installations, pony walls are commonly used to separate spaces, support glass panels, or create an open feel while still containing water. When installing cultured marble surrounds, pony walls are typically capped and finished to provide a clean, waterproof surface and a solid base for glass or fixtures.
All Pony wall caps will be ordered with a 3/4 inch part with 2 long finished edges and 1 short finished edge. The overhang on the inside of the shower and or where the shower door will hit will not have any more than 1/8th overhang.
Whether Tyvarian or Solid White, the Pony Cap overhang on the side where the shower door will hit should be NO MORE than 1/8” overhang to allow for caulk bead and so that the door can be installed properly.
